Hottest Bridal Party Colors of the Season

This season, brides seem to be taking more inspiration from the ready-to-wear runway collections that have debuted for the fall collections. Within these trendy colors, there are an array of navy, deep purples to merlots,  and all neutral shades from taupe to stone.

There are some standouts within each of our designers' collections that I would like to share and love on this Monday morning!

Never one to disappoint, Watters and WTOO have introduced a slue of lovelies this season in fantastic colors, making the art of mix -n- match a breeze. Check out the navy lacy options...adorable!!

Amsale didn't miss the memo on the "pop up of purple" this season....

Monique Lhuillier's addition of manipulated tulle and prints, once again prove that this designer is two steps ahead and doesn't care to look back!! Love the ad shots!

Take note from this sassy shoot by Jim Hjelm. Accessories can create an individual style for each bridesmaid without having to mismatch their dresses. Plus, each member will love to showcase their own personal pieces!

Veils..The Latest and Greatest

Veils are back ladies, and in a big way. These symbolistic hair adornments are no longer an afterthought; with the updates in styles, colors and shapes, these toppers are an extension of your signature bridal style.

There are a few things to consider when selecting your wedding veil which include, but all of that is merely relative...more than likely, when you have pictured yourself on your wedding day, the look of the veil is predetermined, so go with it! Minor details can be adjusted to suit your big day, and more than likely, you will be removing the veil for the reception, so go for the ceremony look you have always dreamed of, everything else will fall into place.

Toni Federici has managed to make veils that are beyond the "traditional," and make them down right trendy. These are my favorites.

The blush pink piece is right on trend for the bride that wants to incorporate a splash of color into the mix. These veils can flatter any shade of gown, and create a great depth and dimension if photographs...and let's be honest, what girl doesn't love a hint of pink?!?

This voluminous veil is a hot look right now taken straight from the runways to the aisle. The addition of the bubble hem adds structure to an otherwise light and sheer silhouette, creating a statement piece for the stylish bride.

What Will Jen Wear???

As you might have heard, the gorgeous Jen Aniston is engaged to her beax, Justin Theroux. This is the kind of news that makes me smile from ear to ear, and gets my curiosity kicking trying to anticipate how this golden beauty might look on her big day.

From my take on Jen's style, she is ever evolving, but is very aware of what looks best on her toned frame, and doesn't stray too far from that. No matter what the current trends might be, she remains true to her chic and sophisticated style...making me a "teamJen" member for life.

After putting quite a bit of mindful thought into this fairty tale bridal styling session with Jen, I have narrowed it down to two looks:

This first look is all about her flare for glam. This Jim Hjelm style JH8250 from the Fall 2012 line has the trumpet shape that would flatter her curves beautifully and showcase her infamous tush like no other. The playful neckline and beaded bodice are styles that Aniston is seemingly drawn to, and the blush undertone of the supple satin would make her golden complexion and honey highlights glow!

Although I do dig strapless silhouettes for this beauty, I am also fond of the plunging neckline that she so effortlessly pulls off...so much so that I couldn't decide on just one. The first look that I selected is a press favorite Lazaro from the Spring 2012 collection, style LZ8250. I think that this fully embellished gown would drape on this muse like a dream, and with her perfect posture and graceful walk, she would be close to perfection prancing around her wedding in this number. The second style is Jim Hjelm JH8254 from the Fall 2012 collection. We typically do not see Aniston in much lace, but the softness of the alencon floral pattern and scallops at the neckline would suit her beautifully. There is a no fuss fantasticness about this gown that I would imagine could appeal for this easy breezy beauty.

Whatever she chooses will be amazing! I cannot wait to see how stunning she looks!! Congrats!!

Falling in Love with Fall 2012 Arrivals

These 2 new lovelies have arrived in the store, and they are INCREDIBLE! Jim Hjelm's Fall collection is remarkable and we could not be more pleased for the first of the bunch to arrive.

Jim Hjelm style # 8254 is a lace lovers' dream come true, and the neckline is jaw dropping. Shown with a fully encrusted belt, this gown appeals to the sassy girl in all of us!

Jim Hjelm style #8250 is bridal glam in a perfect package. The satin trumpet skirt adds an old Hollywood flair to this fully encrusted strapless top. The unexpected gathering at the bust line adds a touch of softness and creates the perfect portrait for a statement necklace.

Fall Trend Alert: High Necks!

Straight from wedding mastermind Colin Cowie , we have one more Fall wedding gown trend to discuss... and that is the always elegant, High Necks. Now this is a look that is sometimes difficult to pull off, as it requires a long, lean torso and neckline to ensure that the dress does not overpower a bride's frame. With that being said, there are ways to customize this look for a flattering look on just about anybody. Simply put, the softer and more airy the material, the less cumbersome and overwhelming  it will seem. For my taste, a sheer lace is the best way to pull this off. Even at that, the height should be custom fit to suit your frame. A master bridal seamstress can simply cut along the edges of a lace to make the neckline softer, and show a hint of a collar bone if you prefer. On the same note, a scalloped top hitting just under the hollow of the neck, can draw the attention to a pretty face, creating an angelic and modest look. When in doubt, order the neckline as the designer has intended, and make custom alterations to suit your taste and frame after. It is always more simple to change the neckline in small stages, and make it your very own look.

A favorite of mine utilizing this trend is this Alita Graham for Kleinfeld gown.  The sheerness of the lace created a lovely frame and the open line at the shoulders is super slimming and a great portrait frame for a fantastic up 'do. Be mindful when selecting accessories for this style. Minimal jewelry and veils set in the back are going to be the most complimentary.

Under Wraps..The "Super Hero" Trend in Bridal

Yet another fabulous Fall 2012 trend that Colin Cowie  introduced on his site is one of the most unexpected: Under Wraps...or capes.

I am loving this added aspect of mystery and romance, and in my opinion, Pronovias knocks this look out of the park. Barcelona was the showplace for their upcoming collection, and if there is anybody that has their finger on fashion; it's this bridal powerhouse. The sheer organza is light enough to stay delicate, while the overall style commands attention, and screams savvy. Love it!
