Put Your Back Into It...

Fall 2012 is all about the back...of the gowns that is. Each designer collection was scattered with gowns adorned with key whole, and heavily detailed backs. This trend makes for a beautiful ceremony entrance and wonderful dimension in photographs.

Here is are some shots of my favorite backs on the runway from Watters, Jim Hjelm Blush, Jim Hjelm and Lazaro from their Fall 2012 collection.

Stylist tip:
To capture all of the interest of the back detail, brides should where their hair up and add a beautiful comb or crystal to their 'do. Also, choose a veil that is longer than the key hole to portrait the statement look, rather than hide it. Tony Federici's "Luxe" is one of my all time favorites!

Kendra Scott Came With Us....

No, her pretty face might not have made an appearance at NY Market this April, but her style sure did! Wanted to be sure to send a quick and huge, "THANK YOU" to Nichole, and the amazing team at Kendra Scott for adorning us with some amazing pieces for the trip. We were literally stopped on the streets as well as within the designers' showrooms and given compliments about our festive jewelry pieces. Thank you again!! XOXO

Watters Fall 2012 Trend Alert!

No surprise in the least...Watters is creating trends and keeping brides ahead of the fashion curve in the form of the LWD. (little white dress)

The versatility of this new collection from our coveted bridal design house, Watters,  is beyond fabulous. These cute numbers could be worn as rehearsal dinner outfits, reception dresses, or my personal choice, the getaway gown. This is an nostalgic trend that is making a comeback, and I could not love it more. In times past, it was tradition for a bride to change into her honeymoon dress before their big exit to the airport, and that could still very well be the case with these shorties; but more frequent than not, there are after parties to attend, and these darling ensembles do the trick quite nicely.

At NY Market, Watters debuted this collection, set to be available for their Fall 2012 line.

I adore these dresses, and the tradition that they represent. Please share your thoughts on these little cuties, and how you would choose to wear them....rehearsal dinner, second dress, or getaway gown.

Forecast for Fall 2012: New York Bridal Market Recap

Bridal has gone boho-glam and bow-bananas...and that makes me a happy girl!! The runways were covered in all patterns of lace and loveliness. For the first time in years, the collections were balanced with both strapless AND strapped gowns making necklines and backs as interesting as ever!! I wanted to share an exclusive sneak peek of some of my favorite pieces.

What was the key to these inspirations? KEY whole backs..in a BIG way. Each designer presented their own interpretation of this dramatic look, and every one them owned the runway. Just imagine the beauty going down the aisle. Brides to be, call your hair stylist and create some up do looks to show off the back of these gowns. They command attention in a big way.

From floral to leaf patterns, beautiful lace was everywhere! Tiered styles and flowy, trimmed hemlines give a hint of boho, and the addition of the new skinny belt style adds a splash of glam to the mix. Perfection.

Bows, bows, bows. For me, the bigger the better, so the re-introduction to this uber feminine detail makes me gitty. Tailored creations were shown both in the front as well as perfectly placed, finishing the belts in the back. The most complimentary style to this adorable accessory is the peplum, and high-low hemlines.....and the high end designers are all over it! Think "Breakfast at Tiffany's."

Once again, sparkly sashes dazzled the runway, bringing attention to the carefully created pieces and the flattering proportions. Such a beautiful addition and great opportunity for personalization.

This season is filled with color...bridesmaids dresses in color-blocking and patterns bring ready-to-wear style to your bridal party!!

Jim Hjelm Blush #1210 has a flirty and youthful quality about it that I simply adore. The flattering shape and soft fabric allows for boggeying the night away in style.

Jim Hjelm Blush #1201....what can I say..the bow, the fit, the versatility...SO FAB! The gown has it all! The tulle overlay skirt is beyond adorable, and the fitted sheath underneath makes for the perfect reception gown for an outdoor wedding. I heart you.

ACM Awards Fashion Fun!!

Thank you ladies of country for making my Monday morning....peeking at what these cowgirls sported last night puts a huge grin on my face. Many of the styles give a huge shout out to our current trends in bridal fashion, and I am loving it!!

Kudos to Kimberly Perry for embracing this body conscious mermaid silhouette. Much like Lazaro 3217, the tulle skirt adds a touch of enchantment while the beaded bodice is all elegance.

Steel Magnolia steals my heart with this feather detailed bodice. Pronovias style Barbate created a bodice with less fluff and an impecible tailored fit. Fun, flattering AND feathers..my fav.

Taylor Swift went a little modern on the red carpet. I would have preffered a little less cut-out and a little more cotton lace, but the proportions are spot on. Small adjustments similar to the Jim Hjelm Blush 1104 and this country star would have hit it out of the park for me.

Jennifer Neddles is not afraid of the spotlight, and for that I applaud this bold choice. The bright pink is glorious, and the pop of neon yellow says that she has fun with fashion. Good for her! Jim Hjelm's adorable style 5207 shares her attention grabbing style.

Little Big Town went all sparkles last night, and why not?? Isn't the red carpet your moment to shine?? Although, I have to say, this style is dubbed a skater dress for a reason. Jim Hjelm 5209 shares the same flattering shape, but the added overlay and floral detail gives a nod to Nancy Sinatra, rather than Nancy Kerrigan. Just sayin.
