Pretty, Pretty Pinterest

Outdoor wedding season is upon us, and as the temps increase; styles have to change accordingly. Always an advocate for finding inspiration via Pinterest, I thought I would post my favorite recent up 'do pins to prove that this look is not just for prom queens.

Not only are these chic styles humidity friendly; they are also a great canvas for stylish accessories, such as amazing earrings, boho bands, and glamourous combs....not to mention, there is the utmost security for veil placement within these teased tresses...no matter how what the weather might bring.

At a recent press photo shoot, hair extraordinaire, Jen Hoover,   took an already beautiful ballerina bun to another level of chic by simply surrounding the 'do with a beaded headband and finishing it off with a dainty bow. The look was both dainty and dangerously fabulous. Swoon.

Serendipity Bride Rocks Her WTOO Gown!

This weekend, I had the pleasure of attending one of my favorite brides (and muses), Sara's, unbelievable wedding at Mercury Hall. Every detail was stunning and the Sorella gown from the Watters' WTOO collection was such a flattering silhouette for her figure. She looked A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

Her styling choices were spot-on for her fun and fashionable personality. I was lucky enough to assist her with the selection of her gown and accessories, but the finishing touches were all Sara.....and I happen to think that they were beyond perfect. Her hubby had a hand in her look all as well. Moments before the nuptials, he sent her a gift....Kendra Scott "Finn" earrings in pearly white. Such a sweet and stylish gesture. :)

The slimming shape of her gown is such a stunning look, that Sara wisely chose to keep the overall silhouette and her bouquet the main focus for the ceremony. (Not to mention her gorgeous mug! ) The simple veil placed low and back within her 'do creates a modern touch, and the rhinestone buttons strategically placed down the back of the gown add sparkle to an already glorious shape.

Once the party started, Sara added her customized "Andreas" sash from Serendipity's exclusive Grayson Elise belt collection. The silk satin ribbon in stone paired with the handmade ivory feather flower add dimension and texture to her tailored gown as well as emphasizes her tiny waist.

Sara styled her bridal party with the same swagger in mind. :) Each member chose a gray gown that complimented their personality and body type. To create fluidity throughout the looks, Sara paired each outfit with a variety of vibrant green earrings from the Kendra Scott collection. Love special touches like these. Serendipity is lucky enough to fulfill customized KS orders like such as this to help bring the entire bridal parties' look together.

I cannot wait to see the finished photos from this treasured bride's big day!! Congrats to Sara and Mike!!

Serendipity Gets a Face Lift....

We are beyond pleased to share photos of our work in progress renovations! The boutique has received an adorable refreshment, and we could not be more proud. The salon is intimate yet spacious, and the dressing rooms are private, with the addition of grand "double door" drama to reveal that 'a-ha' moment. Every bride should remember the experience of selecting her gown, and we feel like this is the perfect setting to do so. The Serendipity Bridal team consistently strives to bring our beloved brides the best that this industry has to offer, and our efforts prove it.

Notice the original sketches that each of our wonderful designers contributed to complete our look...so special...serendipitous, indeed.

Bridal Gowns and Cowboy Boots

I was recently asked by a publication what the new trend in bridal shoe wear is, and far and away, the trend of pairing both wedding gowns and bridesmaids dresses with cowboy boots is the most popular.

I think that we can thank Mrs. Miranda Lambert for her adorable styling for this uprising trend....

The pairing of short, full a-line dresses for her bridal party, complete with tulle underlays could not look cuter with boots. These cowgirls collaboratively make up one of the best "mix-n-matched" celebrity bridesmaids' looks to date. I love how every member has a different pair of personal boots. There are no wall flowers in this group!

Miranda played it smart by changing from a long ceremony gown (which happened to be her mother's), to a shorter, more playful dress. This shows off her personality and style perfectly!

Proper fit tip: If you are one of the brazen bombshells that decide to wear your sassy cowgirl boots, be sure to stay consistent. If you only plan on wearing them for the reception, be sure to choose a matching heel height for the shoe that you sport for your ceremony, and visa versa. The hemline can only be cut to one length, so make sure that both shoes are appropriate.....no one likes to two-step with a torn hemline.

Angelina Jolie's Fantasy Wedding Gown Sketches from Brides.com

She is no Princess, but Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are "the Royal couple in Hollywood", so there will be just as much buzz, if not more about what this wild card bride will wear. Check out what some of the top bridal designers sketched for Brides.com showcasing their interpretation of an inspirational bridal look with Jolie in mind.

Personally, I am on "Team Jen," but I am extremely intrigued by Jolie's style and her impact on global matters, so I gather that there will be more thought into what she wears rather than what is the most flattering. For this reason, I lean towards the design by Haley Paige, and what inspiration is behind this designer's fantasy wedding gown creation...
Sketch by: Haley Paige

"I believe her presence will revolve around a promise for the future in recognition of her diverse family unit and appreciation for her ability to positively influence others on a global scale," says Paige, who designs her own line as well as the Jim Hjelm Blush collection. "This look embodies worldly influence by incorporating the different weaving, beading, and embroidery techniques from the five regions of her children: Cambodia, Ethiopia, Namibia, France, and Vietnam."  Haley Paige.

We would love to hear what sketch  you think best describes Angelina Jolie's style!!

Please read Brides.com blog to see what each designer had to say about their personal inspiration. I am constantly in awe of the thought process that actually goes into creating a wedding gown. These designers are so creative and talented!

Pretty JLM Pubications!

JLM Couture recently posted some of their favorite press pictures, and I adored them so much, that I feel compelled to share them again! Is your favorite in the mix?

My obvious #1 choice is a Lazaro gown complete with Longhorn cuff links!

I adore this aqua inspiration grouping. Jim Hjelm #5232 has that hint of 70's style that I cannot get enough of!

Jim Hjelm #5240  demonstrates the proper way to practice subtle sophistication for any black tie event.

Right on trend, the draping of Jim Hjelm #5215 gives a flowy and flattering silhouette, while color blocking at the natural waist to create an hour glass figure.

Can't get enough lace?? I am with you!! The lace panel in Jim Hjelm #5222 surrounded by chic, tailored black mikado is like an instant slim down....in a bridesmaids' dress?!? Who knew?!?!

Met Gala Fashion Frenzy!!

Such a fun night for fashion!! It's a trendy night where anything goes, and I eat it up like candy! ;)

Here is a fun recap of terrific trends taken from the red carpet and interpreted into wedding styles. Enjoy!!

The high and low of it....Hayley Paige's Blush gown translates this trend adorably!

Trumpeted Tulle Skirts play a softer tune when sampled in these blush tones. Jim Hjelm's floral embellishment add whimsy and romance.

The glamourous look of a one shoulder draped dress is here to stay. Amsale's silk chiffon gown is one of my favorites!

Super slits. This Jim Hjelm Blush gown adds sweetness to the sexy slit with lace and a ribbon bow detail at the waist.

There were a plethora of peplum skirts on the red carpet. This Lazaro gown from the Fall 2012 collection is a peplum style with a twist.

Here is another pretty peplum look with a shorter hemline. The Watters' version from their Encore collection adds another trend by pairing a sheer lace neckline.

This keyhole detail is a great way to bring the focus to the face. It is an instant jeweled neckline. Monique Lhuillier demonstrates this look with this lovely silk chiffon bridesmaids gown.

Monique Lhuillier is once again right on track with the latest trends. Her new collection introduces the pretty look of manipulated tulle overlays. Peek at some more of her new styles for 2012.

This was my FAVORITE look of the evening...the elaborate hem and easy-breezy feel of this boho chic style appears effortless! ML "gets" this style perfectly.
