Oscars---Red Carpet Recap

What a fun night for fashion!! The looks were totally glam, uber sparkly, and I simply could not get enough. There were some key trends that are totally translatable to bridal, and here are couple of my favorites:
Can we talk about the backwards draped necklaces?!? LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! This look would be gorgeous on a bride that chooses a small hair piece rather than a veil. Adding visual interest to the back of a dress does not get much more simple or chic.

THIS hair. Gorgeous!! So many brides are opting for a down 'do this season, and I cannot imagine a more glamourous and feminine style than this for the big day. Wondering what kind of veil would pair with this look??? A retro inspired birdcage.

Now, let's get down to the dresses. While not everybody blew me away, these lovely ladies hit it out of the park in my humble opinion. Add a veil and a bouquet, and these beauties are total brides....and nothing could make this bridal stylist happier.
I have taken each style from the red carpet to the ceremony aisle..enjoy!
WTOO Bridal's style, "Dove"  shares the same flattering dropped waist bodice and layered full skirt.

No need to find a similar bridal gown to go with Ashlan's dress. This IS Lazaro style, LZ3202. Couldn't be happier that our beloved Lazaro was represented at the Oscars Vanity Fair Party!

Jennifer Lawrence's ivory trumpet dress is total glam and soooo Jim Hjelm.

The second I laid eyes on Zoe's dress, "Pamela" from Pronovias popped in my head. The dimension of the textured floral detail on the bodice is such a great way to bring attention to a pretty face!  This lovely number is a part of our sample sale ladies!!

Crushing on Crochet

Think that lace is too formal for you? Think again...the newest look of lace this season has a more casual and light look with the loveliness of crochet. But I assure you ladies- this is not your grannie's handy work. The softness and elasticity of this fabric makes for a smooth and sultry silhouette, while allowing plenty of movement. The depth and dimension of these patterns create remarkable photos and a great palette for styling.

Here are a few of my favorites:

Jim Hjelm Blush Spring 2013

I'm totally smitten. Several gowns from Haley Paige's, Jim Hjelm Blush Spring 2013 gowns have arrived, and I could not be more in love. Their signature crochet lace, layers or blush toned organza and flirty trumpet silhouettes are just a few of the gown descriptions that have stolen my heart from this collection.

Watters Bridal Spring 2013 Trunk Show

This is the perfect way to celebrate the most romantic week of the year! Watters Bridal Spring 2013 Trunk Show is this Friday the 15th and 16th, and I could not be more excited!!  This collection is F-A-B!! Far and Away their Best! Pretty sure I find myself saying that each season, but I assure you ladies, this Spring 2013 selection has something for every bride. Not only are their signature fitted, Alencon lace gowns present, but there are fashion forward shades of pink, gray and the newest addition of crochet within the mix as well. The balance of girl next door and rockstar bride reaches a new height, and I could not be more smitten. Here are just a few of my favorites.

The prettiest shade of whisper pink, "Talia". Everything about this gown appeals to me...the flattering seams, the petit sweetheart neckline and the strategic folds in the pleated skirt....LOVE IT ALL!

"Pilar" in platinum. A fashionable brides' dream come true. The exposed boning and mermaid fit give a glam feel to this rocker chic masterpiece. Did I mention the color??? Perfection.

Fabulous, "Fabienne".  This dress oozes romance. The textured lace detail proves to be picture in perfect in an indoor or outdoor setting. Pair it with a lace adorned mantilla, and you are good to go gorgeous for your big day!

Now for the finale gown, "Soledad".  Might be one of the prettiest pieces I have seen. The illusion neckline, texture, and beadwork are decadent and delicate. The color maybe whisper pink, but the style shouts out "WOWZERS!"

Watters Bridal created a feature page on their site talking about the allure of trunk shows. Specialists from their bridal house will be present along with our seasoned staff to offer profession advice when finding and ordering your dream gown.

Grammy Fashion

The Grammys are always good for some style show stoppers as well as mishaps. Last night did not disappoint in either category. As I always enjoy doing; I have taken some looks that caught my eye and translated into bridal fashion. Pretty pleased with my pics, if I do say so myself! ;) Hope you feel the same! Enjoy!

Cannot get enough lace this season, which is a good thing because it is EVERYWHERE!! I loved this short frock rocked on the red carpet. Watters' Encore Camellia   share the same flattering silhouette, and cinched in waistline.

Taylor Swift's Grecian inspired gown pushes the envelope a bit, and although, I don't love the neckline on her, I think that she looked beautiful. Pronovias's Pelicano would have better suited her slim frame.

Pronovias's Duquesta and Faith Hill's dresses share a similar illusion high neckline. This is such a classy and beautiful style. However, with those gams, Faith should have raised the hemline...come on, it's the Grammys!

Now for my favorite....LOVE this look on Rihanna. The attention to the back detail is spectacular, which immediately reminded me  of Jim Hjelm Blush Spring 2013 collection. Style 1301 shares the same sexy but sweet ribbon detail to adorn a beautiful backside. Love it!!

Amsale is the latest designer to dip into the indulgent world of pretty patterns. Their Fall 2013 collection includes pretty pastel washes in their signature crinkle chiffon fabrics and drapey silhouettes.

These prints can be intimidating at first glance, but styled properly, these floral lovelies can add a fashionable pop to your bridal photos. These gowns have also proven to be a welcomed addition to the "mix-n-match" trend that is still going strong. With addition colors in these multi colored palettes; the options are truly endless.

Fall 2013 Sarah Seven Gowns Arrive

Brace yourselves ladies---additional Sarah Seven samples have found permanent homes on our showroom floor, and we could not be more delighted!!

The boho beauties have graced the covers of magazines, the big screen, and now they have arrived in the Lone Star state, via Serendipity Bridal. You are welcome ladies. ;)

Among the standouts of the season, Sarah added a much anticipated ball gown to the group. "Please and Thank You" is polite-fully precious indeed.

These two chic numbers are worth mentioning as well. "After Midnight" and "Cascade"  have separate personalities but share the same need for remarkable fashion. Swoon with me ladies. Ahhh.

Accessorizing these gowns takes a delicate hand and keen eye...allow me. From the Grayson Elise line, (exclusive to Serendipity Bridal), "Snowball" is the perfect width and shade of pearl to adorn the waists of Sarah's unique gowns. It creates a finished look without overpowering the delicate nature of the style. Snowball is also adorable as a handband for the uber popular half up do that we are seeing so much of these days. The newest gem to our line is the "Dylan" belt. (bottom right) This slightly preppy front closure belt is sweet and sophisticated and transitional enough that it can be worn with just about anything. Anything fabulous that is.
