Is there anything more adorable than a little girl preceding a bride in a fluffy little dress? I think not. When it comes to finding the right look for your mini beauty, just remember that as long as she agrees to actually walk down the aisle when told without throwing a temper tantrum, your hardest task is done.....the rest is cake.
There are several different ways that a flower girl can be incorporated into the bridal party's style. The most common is the white or ivory dress. Typically, the little dress will be similar to the shade of the bridal gown. US Angels has a great selection of ruffled, textured, and simple styles to choose from in quality silk fabrics. There are also many fantastic colored dresses in their collection as well as these classic white and ivory tones.
A colored sash can be used to tie in the colors of either the bridesmaids dresses or another shade used in the wedding. Who doesn't love an exaggerated bow on a little lady...come on, super cute right? Watters has a huge assortment of sashes to choose from, and the fun styles stay true to the designer's aesthetic.
Really, there is no wrong way to dress these little lovelies. A gown in a full color is perfectly acceptable, and does not have to match anybody else's attire. There is no mistaking a flower girl, she makes a statement with a smile, and will be as proud as a peacock in any dress that you choose.
There are a couple of tidbits that you will want to keep in mind when selecting these precious pieces.....just like other special order dresses, measurements are needed, and expect up to a 6 week turn around time. Oh, and this is EXTREMELY important..... if it is convenient for the flower girl to go to Serendipity to try on the sample, be sure to bring a camera. It's too adorable to miss!! ;)
